Hi PB.
My post should have read 1 gr per oz produced not 1 gr per tonne.
Spec said RMS have since updated their haulage costs to be 0.7 per oz. I'm not sure what gold price they were using but if we still use A$1570 that equates to just under $110 per oz. from their Kathleen Valley mine. Using their head grade of 4.2gr per tonne = 7.4 tonnes to produce
1 oz of gold, so $110 divided by 7.4 = under $15 per tonne.
ABU state $20 per tonne in haulage costs
A round trip for RMS is 600 kms , for ABU its 154 kms.
I was just making the point that RMS haul 4 times as far (imagine the extra fuel costs and time this involves) and yet their haulage costs are still 25% below those of ABU. Irrespective of our location this is significant.
