Guess we have all learned lessons Domum, often expensive one's thanks to Gip. As you say the differences between the tantalum market and other metal markets is staggering.
Wonder who thought the whole situation was as complicated as it was when they stated out i certainly did not.
A big plus for Gip is of course the Tin price which is hitting highs. We are probably back to the situation where Gip could be getting more money for that Side (depending on syncon of course and other factors).
As for future demand where is the competition apart from Africa?

Amazing that so called experts still have not got a clue though it was funny Jack Lifton getting slapped down. I suppose another factor in the failure of the operations you mentioned is they were becoming increasingly uneconomic anyway as JT has pointed out before.
Guess a break through could come out of a blue sky in a way for Abu Dabbab, as the small investor is always the last to know.
Though in some ways i am asking myself how lots of underlying conditions could be much better for Abu Dabbab.
After all practically no "clean" tantalum competition and a sky high tin price whats the hold up.
Will sit tight but if they take much longer think we will be carted of to that sanatorium http://www.answers.com/topic/sanatorium for treatment for long lasting Gip optimism.

"Coffmans Rare Earth Supply-Chain Technology and Resource Transformation (RESTART) Act of 2010, H.R. 4866, would reestablish competitive domestic rare earths mineral production, processing, refining, purification, and metals production industries to support the growth of green job technology and manufacturing as well as the nations defense industry, the pointed out in a press release."
"Rare earths are indeed getting rare. I got wind of it only a few months back when doing a story on Canada Resource Group and their Blue River Project in British Columbia. Its President David Hodge in an interview said that tantalum that is used in cellphone, laptops, digital camerals and several modern industries is in short supply with Western supply totally eliminated."
You have to hand it to Commerce they do not miss a trick wonder how big the Campaign contribution was?
