My view is that Hunter Hall LIC won't sell. No need to. When Geoff Wilson's WAM invested in HH LIC shares, WAM might have viewed it as an opportunity to leverage a profit by arbitrage between the real value of the net tangible assets compared with the bargain discounted market share price at time of investment. WAM strategy did not consider Peter Hall being so unhappy by this perceived threat to his investing management freedom ( including counter-cyclical shift into gold pre-Trump) that he was happy to pass control to the Millner family. I think that WAM might now feel more desperate - but HH management and Soul Patts are pretty strong enough to withstand buy-back demand from WAM.
