Yesterdays Ann gave no mention of the condensate or information on the choke size in use for these lower flows.
IMO, what GGP have done here is throttle the well back to an extent that condensate will not be drawn up the well pipe and cause operational problems in their current setup i.e. all gas direct to flare, until infrastructure is completed. (There may also have been environmental issues with continuous flaring at high rates in the FP area).
At this stage, there is NO INCOME, and there wont be any income for 2 months until the infrastructure is completed. The intervening 2 month period will be used to check how well pressure stands up over a prolonged period of drawoff essential to know this, before a customer can be assured of their supply.
The Ann. Has already stated that the flowrate may be increased depending on the performance of the reservoir the suspicion that FP1 may be connected to a much larger hydrocarbon accumulation would give greater confidence that higher flowrates will be able to be maintained.
Over the last week or so, it appeared that posters had become experts on Gas/Condensate wells seems all this good knowledge has been forgotten in the excitement and expectation of the moment.
Gas and condensate have been found and it has not gone away lets not forget that.
This $400k infrastructure will undoubtedly include equipment to separate condensate from the gas, before gas is sent downline to their market. There MAY be some facility (or provision for some facility) to also separate oil, which (hopefully!) could flow from other levels, when they are tested.
No doubt further investigations and planning for a second well will also be happening as many posters have stated, why spend $400k if there is any doubt about the future success of this area?
Perhaps yesterdays ANN was not to everyones liking they never are, but dont spend too much time trying to analyse the use of the English language in what may have been meant look at the broader picture and realise that the FP1 result is a real opportunity for a successful producing well and gives further encouragement to continue with additional investigation of upper levels and additional wells, when the time is right.
IMO that is what GGP/VIL are currently about.
