I have never understood why Westside has been considered as a plausible contender for Anglos assets. The dillution and cash involved for Westside to achieve such a swallowing feat is amazing and also considerably destructive to WCL shareholder wealth.
Its like a bullfrog swallowing a small dog. The result would not be pretty for the frogs waistline trust me, let along the prospect of believing its jaw could open to swallow it!
I think I read somewhere that the lateral blockage was related to fines migration rather than in-seam stability and the coals collapsing - coal friability? Lateral completions dont work well in these coals that cant hold their own. It sounds as though they have been trying to flush the well. Not sure whether they are considering getting back down there and redrilling it? Can they underream a lateral?
Cheers,
