Imagine the cultural loss that would occur if ABC was lost, no matter what side of politics you fall on. all the other stations do is buy off the talent that comes through the ABC, usually after they have lost their edge.

Point being though without the ABC there will be far fewer actors, artists, comedic talents, writers and producers coming though. ABC is grass roots, and there is a reason that the rest of the world is jealous at our high ratio per capita of talent and that is because our grass roots are flourishing and that opportunities are based on merit and not based on a system of hierarchy seen in countries like the USA.

The commercial stations are crammed full of mind numbing junk, but I guess there are those in our society that want to see the dumbing down of the Australian people, bring them down to their level.

The ABC should not be a political football.
