    Further to its release on 27 July, Lonrho Mining Limited (ASX: LOM) is pleased to announce that the 15 tonne per hour Dense Media Separation Plant has arrived at the Lulo Project. Re-commissioning of the plant should be completed within the next two weeks and processing of the stockpiled gravels will commence.

    Lonrho’s 15 tonne per hour Dense Media Separation (DMS) plant has arrived on site and has been set up and field commissioned. It will now commence processing alluvial samples with results due by the end of September 2010.
    The processing of alluvial gravels through the Company’s 15 tonne per hour Dense Media Separation plant is being supervised by Lonrho’s joint venture partner Endiama, which is the exclusive concessionary for diamond mining rights in Angola.

    Lonrho has today been advised that Endiama has requested that manual hand sorting of concentrates from the DMS plant be halted until representatives from Angola’s Diamond Security Corps are also present on site at Lulo. Lonrho has been advised that the Diamond Security Corps are expected to arrive next week at the Lulo Project from the Angolan capital of Luanda

    Lonrho Mining Ltd (ASX: LOM) (the Company) has been advised that the first 50-tonne sample of alluvial gravels treated through its Dense Media Separation plant at the Lulo project in Angola has not produced any diamonds. The processing of the initial sample marked the start of a trial mining phase at Lulo which will see alluvial gravels from about 50 pits and trenches treated through the DMS plant. Lonrho chief executive Miles Kennedy said that delays with the manual hand-sorting of concentrates at the DMS plant, under the supervision of representatives from joint venture partner Endiama and Angola’s Diamond Security Corps, had prompted Lonrho to move to source a flow sort x-ray machine to speed up the process

    The Company has been advised that the 15-carat diamond was recovered during the hand sorting of concentrates from the second 50 tonne sample of alluvial gravels being treated through the Dense Media Separation plant at Lulo


    They always get there in the end it just takes time..
