Thanks for that. That is exactly why I posted the link to the article.
I was aware of most of those initiatives by virtue of a mine tour last year where Steve, Greg and their team spoke of this stuff prior to the tour. Yes it is fascinating to see how much thought and work is going on that the average investor would have no idea of (me included without the benefit of the visit !).
The real time monitoring of the multi stream analyser is a great addition and just one of many that the current management have initiated.
The approach and culture at K is miles away from where it was under the previous contract arrangement - heavily exposed to a " mine more dirt for more pay" culture ( with perhaps insufficient regard to efficiency and subsequent dilution of ore feed quality etc.) .
Now the mining shifts are on some incentive arrangement to "own" their performance and develop a winning team culture
Another thing they were looking at was lining the dumptruck trays with a "plastic" liner for longer life etc.
There are a whole host of initiatives implemented and under constant review. Haul road condition / tyre wear and others.
When the average punter sees the share price languishing it might be easy to wonder if the company is indeed a switched on outfit. Talks (and more importantly actions) like these from management ought to go a long way to adding some confidence in what actually happens at the mine.
Seeing it up close is even better - The setup for Andy's Earthmoving fleet on site, the huge new excavators, the maintenance outfit/sheds and so much more. I am no expert (but at least a practical person in the construction industry) and I came away from that visit impressed.
Now - for the insto's to just get us back in their sights !!??
