Thanks all I think I understand that is a self managed thing. I own a company as well and when I buy and sell shares on the share certificate they have numbers. Eg share numbers 1,500,000 - 2,500,000. This may be creating the confusion for me as when I buy and sell shares on CommSec it sounds like each individual share isn’t assigned a number.
