I am just an amateur when it comes to the sharemarket but the following lessons was learnt by me.
I bought a particular share and thought I would use the trailing sell function and set the trigger price below the purchase price.
The shares was sold within minutes…if thought I must have made an error and bought more replacement shares and placed a trigger price once more.
Once again the shares were sold in minutes!
Rang up Commsec and claimed there must be a programming problem.
Commsec informed me with trailing sell they aim to sell at the highest possible…since the current share prices was above the trigger price it was basically sold immediately.
