I work in insolvency, i dont trust the small brokers.
When one of those small broker directors develops coke habit and thinks he is wolf of wall street and you lose your shares - he will say accounts are segregated but they are really pooled.
Then ASIC doesnt do anything and you lose everything to liqudiator.
So for extra $10 i pay ill take the commsec protection even though i hate commsec - they f__cked me during GFC - couldnt log in or sell my shares.
