I have a CommSec issue which has made me consider walking away from them...
Basically after a few trades in a day I get an error message on any Buy orders that rejects it and says 'Deposit required'. This is despite me not engaging in margin trading, and more importantly having more than enough cash in my account (I don't mean sold trades waiting to settle, but actual cold hard cash sitting there). The amount in my account is also more than the trade I wish to make. It makes no sense to me.
I have called them twice to discuss this, and they kinda vaguely and hesitantly talk about limits and waffle on about different stock types. They usually have to speak to 2-3 other managers to understand themselves. It's weird!
I wanted to know: a) does anyone else have this problem? b) do people on other platforms have this problem, or is it CommSec only?
