It can go both ways - I have shares in a company that did this but after an initial spell where the tone of HC posts improved, the company's representative became a lightning rod for poor behavior (including behavior that arguably called for the company to take legal action) - not a good look. This was controlled with moderation for a time but after a bit everyone seemed happy to revert to ASX announcements and the status quo.
When the mob has its temper up and pitchforks and torches in hand its not easy for the voice of reason to sound through - look at Covid and the RWNJs the last few years.
Not sure there's an easy fix.
