Well its quite a while ago but if this aging brain can recall correctly without going back to primary documents I did Engineering Maths to 2nd year degree level, Pure Maths (various subjects) to third year degree level, Applied Maths (various subjects) to third year degree level and maths-related subjects (thinking of stuff like Formal Language Theory and Computational Logic here which arguably are just Pure Maths tarted up so that programmers can deal) to honours year level. I took a first and never got lower than a good B at any time in my degree.

Mind you, I really don't think that proves all that much much and mention it only because of your nasty dig.

Perhaps you can point out the error I have made that has caused you so much amusement.

If I have made a genuine error I apologize in advance and would welcome correction.

This may also be a good point to mention that @Sabbath has been a little disingenuous in choosing the 'flu stats he quotes (and helpfully provides a source citation for). The numbers he quotes are aggregate totals for Influenza and Pneumonia, which includes Pneumonia caused by viral influenza (fair enough) but also bacterial Pneumonia or Pneumonia from undetermined causes (not OK and probably leads to overstated counts).
