Reg, this may be small comfort but you are definitely not alone. I can assure you that most investors who came into the market post GFC in the hopes of catching it on the way up have had a lot of their wealth removed. Myself included. One only needs to realise that the XJO today is only up a paltry 250 points from five years ago to understand how precarious investment has been. In my own case, having retired to North America, I also have the dollar issue to contend with. Going to have to work until I fall off the perch - anyone need their leaves raked out there?
In any case, good luck in future Mr. Rabbit, I don't mean to sound trite but things will eventually look up.
