Gold Coast would be an awful location to be in right now, I'd imagine. Heavily reliant on international tourism flows, at a time when we've completely shut our doors to overseas visitors. The local population is small and many jobs there are tied to tourism, so there's little chance the locals can pick up the slack.

I have been monitoring the bookings at their Freak locations via the online booker (handy for gauging demand since it shows you what sessions are sold out and what's available). The difference in bookings between their prime Bondi location and Gold Coast is night and day. Gold Coast has been in a torpor, while Bondi regularly sells most of its session slots.

For example, I just took a snapshot of bookings of its latest VR addition at this moment (Sunday morning) at Gold Coast and Bondi:

So while Gold Coast is definitely underperforming, their other locations look to be doing fine. Importantly it looks like management has learnt the importance of location, given their focus on the Westfield rollout.
