IMHO democracy has nothing to do with capitalism or communism. It is a separate condition

If you insist on calling our present system capitalism, the lack of democracy within the existing system is because a proper capitalistic system allows free enterprise without too much government restraint.

We do not have a free capitalist system same as there is never a free socialist system due to the fact that both systems if allowed to be controlled by the leaders are nothing more than dictatorships.
