I'm not sure what it is that you know but if it's regarding some farmers supporting it, then i'm sure you're right. No doubt it would be those that stand to pocket either directly/indirectly from the development. AGL's wind turbines are a smaller example of the same theme.
My argument was that however you want to describe current farming practices, cereal and legume cropping has been utilised for a very long time in the area and continues to produce ongoing wealth for the community. A copper pit with a 15 year LOM is a stranger passing through, in comparison.
re: marginal at best: tell that to the western Eyre and northern Mallee growers, who subsist quite comfortably on less than 14 inches. I've been on country, inside a 10km radius from the proposed mine site and it is most certainly profitable.
