As the preso states... WBT's demo chips have now been received, sliced and packaged, shown positive initial test results, and are now in the next step of the process being characterization and qualification. Im guessing shipping to potential customers cant be too far away, maybe a couple of fabs would like to see and test these before licensing too??

The Skywater qualification process obviously needs to be completed by them in their facility and is currently expected to be completed in Q1 CY23.

My understanding is that this run of demo chips is somewhat of a dummy run of what Skywater needs to complete in that the memory on these demo chips is the same thing that Skywater are qualifying, with the exception of integrating to client specifications rather than integrating on a demo chip.

Therefore, the success of the qualification of these demo chips should be a key de-risking event. That is, if the these demo chips are qualified, the risk of the Skywater qualification process succeeding is better too.

Furthermore, with the demo chips being sent to potential customers, they will be able to see and test the working firsthand of some qualified SiOx reram! The same SiOx reram that will come off the Skywater production line in a matter of months time, except with their exact product specifications.

Surely industry chatter that the memory in module works, etc, etc will get tongues wagging, fabs worrying and investors frothing?
