As a West Aussie you would know Toodjay is a small shire.
While not defending his role as a Councillor ( I let my thoughts be known on this 2yrs ago) the pay and allowances are quite small. Some people do like to give back to their areas , especially if they have a long family connection. But here are WA pay scales and allowances for Councillors in WA.
