The global financial crisis is really having an impact when companies in or near South Africa, where electricity shortages are pronounced, have enormous coal resources located near power grids, power plants, railways, roads and international ports.
AVA is sitting on just over 1 billion tons of coal and has real assets in Western Australia. RES has over 1.3 billion tons and has been given special status in SA whilst also having another couple of million tons of bitumenous coal in Tasmania. Other new companies in SA have equally impressive coal reserves.
How can the market justify a share price of AVA at 10cents and RES (after consolidation of 1 for 10) of only 50+ cents. Can anyone make sense of this? Confused as aways!!!Bernie
