It makes sense to me that the OT would be taken by those who have conducted product qualification. Koreans iirc.
Perhaps they have had the chance to put that 20 tonnes to work in battery cells by now? If not already, probably soon..?
Imo it is unlikely that someone new would come along and lock in a binding offtake without that process completed.
It happens for spod and other materials often, but with BG chemicals, afaik, there is much less leeway wrt product quality, and the qualification is therefore critical to avoid costly reprocessing etc..
Just imo but I reckon the guys that took the 20t will be the ones who order our first commercial product.
The funding for the 10ktpa expansion, on the other hand, could be from many sources.
I am confident that JZ has shareholders’ interests as a priority in such a deal, and is pushing for the best outcome possible. No rush required imo.
