I would think that any prosecutor wouldn't want to run a case that they didn't think they had a chance of winning
we don't know what evidence there is, we don't know what statements there have been, we don't know their assessments of how people will hold up under X examination
it's pretty easy sometimes to put someone in a bloody big hole under X examination - it's a hobby that I might so easily have taken for a ride if I were so inclined to have a career.
