Agree with your statement that 2010 was probably a more buoyant time for take over valuations. There is however the synergy for Barrick with an aging mine 15km up the road. I would imagine barrick with a team on the ground and alot of PNG experience Kare would be a natural progression for them especially with similar rock formations.

I just hope with the current market valuations we dont get low balled by Barrick for 50c or something like that. I hope Blackrock and co are looking for a bigger pay day then that.

Also adding to nectars comments re Argentina, didnt they resently nationalise a large oil company? think I would rather invest in PNG then the Argies any day of the week.
