Lets focus solely on the best deposit Fortis is acquiring here, Chelkar.
Chelkar has a Soviet classified resource, not yet JORC, of 1,500Mt at 26-30%K2O (or 42-48%KCl), containing 390-450Mt K2O.
BHP's Jansen project in Saskatchewan has a resource of 3,250Mt at 25% K2O (source: BHP 2010 Annual Report), containing ~825Mt K2O.
Thus it appears from the above and from a resource point of view, that Chelkar is circa half the size of Jansen!
Another comparison is Elemental's Sintoukola Project in Congo, where Elemental is targeting a contained resource of 170-300Mt (at a grade of 23-25% K2O).
Another comparison is STB's Colluli deposit, which has a JORC resource of 547Mt at 18.5% KCl (11.5% K2O equiv), containing 101Mt of potash in KCl type. Total target at Colluli is 750-1,250Mt at 18-20% KCl (11-12% K2O equiv)
