First up I'd say Eargo will lose that insurance market entirely...whether they're prosecuted or not.
I still can't understand how they can tout their instruments as hearing aids when the OTC Rules aren't finalised?...remains a mystery to me.
Anyway, from a previous article I posted the insurance accounted for some 25% of their entire business. That's a nice chunka of change and I'm quietly confident that NUH will be chasing that avenue with vigour especially given one of our new Execs is ex-Eargo and whom I'm presuming has the insights to streamline the process...especially once we release the Pro.
I'd also presume the insurer would be happier paying for a hearing aid with all the bells and whistles at likely well less than half the price? It would be another string (of which we have many) to our bow certainly.
