Another comparison thread now to provoke some thoughts.
CUE today announced their half-yearly results and a maiden 2c dividend. CUE are a relatively small producer like SHE with a few assets but nicely cashflow positive
At close yesterday, CUE was trading at 6.7c for a market cap of ~$46mil. The 2c per share dividend will cost them $14mil or approx 60% of their Dec 31st 2023 cash balance (they also repaid $4m debt during the last half).
Now, what is really interesting is the impact on CUE shareprice, almost immediately it is up 2.8c (a +40% jump today, and at one stage was +50% up). And this 2.8c increase has added $20mil of market cap to CUE (more than the value of the dividend!!!)
This further highlights how much the general market is valuing dividends and concrete returns to shareholders in this environment.
I really hope our executives and Board are taking notes of these listed peer comparisons and taking a good hard look in the mirror...
