Mate, what a load of cods. All the incoming President elect has said is he wants to establish a National Lithium Company like the state-owned copper miner Codelco. There has never been any mention of nationalisation and it would not pass the Congress or Senate anyway.

As Borat pointed out Chile has been and still is the number one mining investment location in South America and that wont change under the new left Government. SQM has had problems because it has contravened its lithium production quota with the Chilean Government on a number of occasions and there are many competing interests for water on the Atacama salar. Also the Chilean Government owns the mining leases SQM operates on so it has plenty of say about what goes on. That is not the case with other lithium players in Chile, except Albemarle.
