I don't think you are being very objective here. LKE has same type of resource, will produce the same product, in the same country. It doesn't get much more similar/comparable than that. The only real difference is the process/approach they use for achieving their outcome.

I would come from the opposite end and ask: why are people so sensitive about comparisons? You only have a limited amount of capital you must compare companies to determine how best to deploy this capital. What is the best risk/reward in a particular sector? How do you answer this question if you don't compare companies? What is wrong with openly discussing your observations with others? There is nothing sinister or wrong with that. It's just part of the process.

If you are valuing a property do you not compare the property to sales of other properties in the same street, and then other properties in the same suburb, and then other properties in the next suburb?
