I envision there will soon be a significant debate between the Hard Rock Vs Brine resources to produce Lithium given Li Hydroxide is needed to produce lithium batteries. Companies holding Hard Rock (Spodumeme) resource will need to produce Spodumeme Concentrate and then Lithium Hydroxide (2 step process) whereas Brine holders such as GLN will need to produce Li Carbonate and then Li Hydroxide (also 2 step process).
The main arguments will be around the cost of conversion from Li Carbonate and then Li Hydroxide and ultimately the overall CAPEX between lithium explorers/producers for Hard Rock and Brine resources. Do you believe these costs will affect GLN long term?
