Dy(2)O(3) consumption in 2008 was 1,320 tonnes (USGS report 2011). Allowing for 10% growth pa current usage around 1,600 tonnes. Rate could increase with switch from nuclear to renewables (read wind thus magnets).
Of all possible suppliers of rare earths ALK Zirconium plant is still unravelling demonstration plant problems on primary products let alone rare earths.
