Barry Heffernan from Oxymem spoke next. He started by mentioning how Oxymem have just begun to move on from demonstration systems to small size commercial applications (much like Zeelung); and then spent 10 minutes covering how the tech worked (he only mentioned the drop in cassettes/modules - no mention of decentralised or stand alone units at this point).
He then laid out two projects that they have executed:
Firstly, a wine area (France I think). Their solution was to drop 6 modules/cassettes into the existing civil works (again competing with Fluence's SUBRE). This was installed at the start of 2018, so they have no results and cannot report on operation/data.
Secondly, they installed a packaged plant in a 40ft shipping container (Sound familiar?) that runs on solar. Very isolated mining camp in North Africa. Commissioned 5 months ago. I found it interesting that he said that they had not got much feedback from the clients - he said that they assume that it is working a treat (no news is good news right?).
Given all that we know about Fluence this statement shows (imo) how far they are behind our business in terms of global vision and execution
