The Telix product is designed to be part of a theranostic pair, ie used for diagnosis/staging and also for therapy of advanced metastatic prostate cancer. The paradigm utilises the same molecule to demonstrate receptor target expression on the tumours, and to then treat by attaching to the targeting molecule a more energetic radioactive atom (eg Lu-177). After a few cycles of treatment, the patient is re-imaged with the Telix TLX-591 Ga-68 PET imaging agent, and so it goes on.
The Fluorinated compounds do not have a therapeutic pair (at this stage), to my knowledge. There are many molecules available for imaging prostate cancer using with Ga-68 or F-18. Only a few have been developed with a therapeutic partner molecule.
