NeRF technology is an acronym for Neural Radiance Field.
Neural Radiance Field (NeRF) is a technology that revolutionizes the representation of 3D spaces. Visualizing photorealistic environments from different points of view with a high level of data compression opens up new possibilities for different industrial sectors, ranging from digital twins to the creation of scenarios for the media sector, with faster content production.
Shane Douglas is the co-founder and 7-year CTO of Pointerra. He's a graduate in physics and computer science with over 30 years in software dev. He's one of the original guys who were with Ian when they were doing the 3D software contract for Rio - in Brazil I think it was - that became Pointerra. He's super-smart and hides his light under a bushel. Was surprised he was there, and that Ian highlighted his work. Would be great if anyone who was there had the opportunity to talk with Shane, or whether Shane talked more about his work.
And again, as Ian highlighted, you cannot do this NeRF/Neural dev work without the massive databases that Pointerra has to train the AI.
