Competition

I have just read this morning about ETR and having a look into the business. The recent news is very positive. However, I am interested in the competition in this space.

Recycling of tyres has been a multi-decade issue with many companies looking for solutions. I have no knowledge so this morning started with Australia only to see what is happening.

I came across TyreStewardship, which had info which gave some current businesses operating in the space. Interesting was a company called Carroll Engineering - interesting because it is in Stapylton, exactly where Entyr has its plant.

No doubt there is plenty of demand, are these two businesses going head to head in the space though? And that was just the first one I looked at - there are another 5 in other locations around the country. And that's not then factoring in overseas competition - with ETR's ambitions to have 10 plants with some locations outside Australia.

So I guess it comes down to competitive advantage and is it a difficult process for new businesses to enter, and for existing businesses - 'our superior tech will enable us to dominate the market'? That is the story being sold?

Anyway, I like companies striving to make the world better. I put them into the long-term part of the portfolio. This is high spec imo, but ticks a lot of boxes. The government is investing - I'll definitely be watching for improving revenues.

    Good luck with it!
