By no means an expert (and happy to be proven wrong) but I believe the company was referring to '3D' as a flat piece of flat material that has been molded and give it 3 dimensions - depth along with width and length therefore to reflect a non 2d structure (which cardiocel effectively was). My opinion (and it is only an opinion/ theory) is that the timeline of events suggests the '3D' version was introduced when they were using cardiocel to treat aortic defects, and the limitations of trying to use flat sheet of material to wrap a spherical structure, so the molding of the product was explored, Again, not a source of truth but just my interpretation.However, I dont really care what they call it...I just look forward to what could be.
