As all wise investors here undoubtedly know, the biotech sector is a high risk - high reward space to play in. While the vast majority of biotech companies sadly end up failing, for those few who do succeed the rewards can be significant.

In terms of risk, not only do biotech companies have to overcome the high probability of clinical trial failure, should they succeed they then have to hope their product is commercially attractive and a better mousetrap does not come out shortly afterwards.
