DroneShield will not be developing or acquiring laser defeat technology in the near term, and probably not in the medium term. They are not "missing out" because of that decision. Both directed energy (including laser) and projectile firing systems are completely inappropriate in DroneShield's chosen operational domain. While DroneShield products have a useful part to play in frontline operations, the primary domain is in areas where the primary threat is group 1 drones operating in areas where there is a significant risk of collateral damage and casualties from deploying destructive weapons.
