Don't see it as a competitive threat to COZ for a number of reasons.
1. Poor bio-security of Vietnamese products is well known and aqua-culture is one of the worst.
2. Japan is considering moving away from Vietnamese product due to bio-security issues.
3. Australian is not a predominant market for Vietnamese prawns.
4. Conversely COZ is not a threat to their market either as it seeks domestic dominance in the first instance.
5. Minh Phu needs to get out of Vietnam to grow and seeking offshore funds and a listing elsewhere is the first step in a very long set of steps.
It's share price tripling in the last year? Always hard to accept that is a parity with listed companies here for too many reasons to fathom. Especially since they are seeking funding and a listing elsewhere.
Just a bit disappointing to see COZ head off down the name change though.....thought they would have maintained the existing as a better reflection of who they are. Being revenue skinny on just tiger prawns increases their survival risk.
Cheers.
