I am not an expert in batteries by a long shot, but I understand that Novonix has three key business areas: 1) Battery Tech Solutions 2) Pure Graphite Anode materials and 3) Cathode materials.
NVX are supplying battery materials to leading battery manufacturers and have signed deals with Samsung SDI and Sanyo who is a subsidiary of Panasonic.
While QuantumScapes batteries are anodeless (slide 13) they have a cathode. The life of a battery is only as long as it's weakest component. Novonix proposition is that their cathodes will last at least 1m miles and have lodged a patent for their cathode technology.
It is possible that QuantumScape end up being a customer of Novonix not a competitor.
Please jump in everyone if I have that wrong!
