I sometimes wonder how correlated annuity growth is aligned to the markets. When the markets go good people are likely less inclined to go with the safety of annuities to say a mixture of term deposits and equities, especially given TD rates have slightly improved and the Australian economy continue to chug along well riding the China Dragon. Annuities are here to stay but the importance in educating people about their benefits is still lacking in market penetration regardless of how often you see it promoted in the media, especially radio. This is a long haul growth stock with appealing fundamentals, just a small blip in over expectations.
