For the last few years telecom resellers have come under pressure because of the pricing structures forced on them by the introduction of the NBN. Vocus has been negatively impaired by these industry dynamics. However it appears a compromise is developing that could see these industry dynamics shift in the resellers favour. Press reports on this situation are continuing to build (see latest below).

It is becoming clear that the NBN in its current form will not work, to succeed they will need to come up with a solution that pulls customers and resellers onto the fixed-line service. Resellers need to be incentivised to promote the network effectively and the government has spent too much on this project to let mobile or other alternative competitors take over.

A compromise is brewing which could therefore see a significant re-rating to Vocus and other NBN resellers.
