True; however, dual booting includes its own set of pain (not the least of which is, every time you want to use a Windows program, you're forced to close all your Mac software.)
VMware Fusion is another option that works well for me, and I don't think it would be that hard for a newbie to set it up and get going. Not free, but pretty solid, at least for what I've been using it for (work related things.)
