Westmoon I have also noticed a similar scenario myself using windows XP?
Is this the platform you are using as well??
I have noticed that if I use a shortcut icon (desktop icon) to enter a website, then any further attempts to use more icons to go to a different site will see the current webpage disappear and be replaced by the new site you have chosen. The good news is that if you hit the back button it should take you straight back to your previous site.
Hence I no longer use desktop icons to get to my websites, I go in through Favourites..... if I try to open up internet explorer while I have a page open (or minimised) it is no problem using this method. I have two monitors - so not sure if this has any bearing???
Hope this is of some help.... I blamed it on XP service pack 2??? and now I just work around it as I have no idea why this occurs or how to stop it.

    Cheers

    Commy
