Arthur, try uninstalling and reinstalling the program first.
However, if you also get this problem with any other memory hungry programs (eg excel if you have a big database) could mean your pc is not quite up to it, or perhaps windows is getting a little tired.
Tell me a bit about your pc (ie processor, ram, amount of disk space filled, how long since you've defragged your hard drive and ran a full scandisc with surface repairs) Also, how long since you've reinstalled windows. I usually do this about quarterly and find it speeds things up.
If you have sufficient memory, there is a trick or two you can do to allocate more to vcache.
