    Hi Warnie,

    - If you open the Network Connections folder and there is an entry for "Wireless Network Connection", then the laptop is wireless enabled. The wireless adapter should also appear in Device Manager.

    -Go to Start / Settings / Network Connections (or alternately Start / Settings / Control Panel / Network Connections).
    This lists your network adapters (wireless or wired). Look for one labeled wireless.

    - Go control panel, select the system icon and go to the hardware tab. Click on device manager, then expand the "Network Adapters" listing. See if there is a built in wireless device listed, if there is, you are ready, if there is not, you can purchase a 3rd party wireless adapter in either USB, or PCMCIA form and give yourself the ability to go wireless..
