spybot won't remove viruses - I use spybot, and quite frankly it finds f-all.
there are hundreds of virus removers, just plug "anti-virus" into any search engine and you'll get them all.
most popular being MacAfee, Nortons, Panda..... all much of a muchness. The test is, having 'removed' a virus, will it still be there on next boot? that's the test.
and also many programs report finding a virus, but are not capable of removing it - so make sure you have a virus remover - and also make sure you really do have a virus and not something else such as spyware.
I've got to say in all the years I've been surfing the net and using it for almost everything you can use it for, I've NEVER had a virus. And I do not use any form of anti-virus software. I've had plenty of persistent spyware bugs but never a virus. I'm beginning to wonder how people get them.....
seems to me that cautious use of emails, setting internet security to 'high' when surfing iffy sites, using a firewall, and cleaning up spyware/adware keeps the system squeaky clean.
