thats how this virus works - impersonates a virus scan, reports countless viruses and prompts you to buy its product - give credit card details etc -usual stuff.
these types are normally harmless to the extent that they are easy rid off, and dont do lasting damage - unless you follow the instructions.
i had it yesterday - a quick scan to clear it properly and all is good.
