EMC2 is correct.
With E*trade, when you make a sale the proceeds are immediately available for re-investment.
And it gets even better. E*Trade's "My Accounts" section shows instantly just exactly how much you have available to trade. From frequent comments here on HotCopper it seems that Commesec does not have this feature.
