"If the government of the day is pushing reasonable legislation through the senate it will pass."
Absolutely False.
In late 2013 and 2014 the gov't of the day couldn't push its reasonable Budget Deficit Measures legislation through the senate such was the nature of the feral senate swill obstructing the sound responsible representative gov't merely to justify its malingering existence.
Labor/Greens/Xenophon were a senate majority when in gov't 2007-13 and passed hundreds of Bills if not thousands but were still a blocking majority with Lambie in 2013/14 no matter how reasonable the legislative Bills!
Jackie Lambie was far more interested in appearing on TV shows and assessing how well hung any potential suitors were, than she was concerned in the nation's Economy and whether legislation was "reasonable" in the current day economic climate.
Lazarus, Wang and Muir wouldn't even know which side their bread is buttered on, let alone what is good or bad legislation, and Nick Xenophon was and still is a socialist stooge pretending to give a damn but he was only ever going to vote down Budget Savings Bills and commit us to ever spiralling Debt and Deficit and multi-billion$ monthly interest payments on Debt.
We voters elected a H of R gov't with a clear mandate to reel in the Debt and Deficit and that bloated Senate aided by the deceitful leftist mainstream media cried foul and "unfair" in unison and failed us voters by blocking the Executive of the day.
That Senate, that gerrymandered, undemocratically elected, cohort of unrepresentative swill failed to perform by any fair and reasonable measure.
Our economy has continued in a Debt and Deficit spiral and will continue to do so now until this so-called "States' House" is abolished.
Odd, don't you think, that NZ has really prospered while at the very same time we have floundered since 2007.
I wonder why?
